About the Event

The purpose for hosting a Mental Health Awarenres Meeting is to bring light to common illnesses such as depression.

The percentage of people dealing with or living without knowledge of depression is astronomical, espeically in the homeless community.

I have found that depression doesn't always show as a physical ailment, but can also be hidden to most people that aren't familiar to the signs. After (10) years of working in a homeless community on the Westside of Atlanta I have not only witnessed signs of depression in these facilities, but also in friends that have stressful occupations.

I aim to meet new people that suffer from depression and mental illness and give them the opportunity to open up about their fears and the obstacles of navigating it.

We will strive to meet weekly or bi-weekly (all dependent on participation) on Wednesday's at 6pm for duration of an hour.
