About the Event

DWM has partnered with the United States Geological Survey (USGS) to undertake a water quality monitoring project in Proctor Creek at the site of the Hunter Hills restoration project to assess the impacts of the project on E coli levels and other pollutants in the stream. The USGS team will be sampling on Tuesday mornings (6/20 and 6/27) and would welcome any residents who would like to come and observe and learn more about the project.

Sampling will be at three locations, starting at the Boone Blvd bridge at 7:30 am, and then two locations accessible from the mown path from Troy St. into the site, one on the Greensferry tributary and one on the main stem of Proctor Creek. They wrap up around 1-1:30pm, spending about 1.5 hrs at each site. (You certainly don’t have to arrive at 7:30 but could join later at one of the other sites).

For reference, the Boone Boulevard bridge is near 1235 Joseph E. Boone Boulevard between Burbank and Troy Street. The restoration location site is off Troy Street near 228 Troy Street NW.

This event has a group. You’re welcome to join the group once you register for the event.
