FULTON COUNTY CHAIRMAN LEADS EFFORTS TO OFFER TRUCKING EDUCATION THAT PUTS STUDENTS IN THE DRIVER’S SEAT
On yesterday, Fulton County Commission Chairman Robb Pitts has secured $500,000 in key funding for Atlanta Technical College’s new Transportation and Logistics Center that will train students in truck driving, warehouse logistics and truck maintenance. “The trucking industry is seeing unprecedented demand and offers high paying jobs and endless opportunities,” said Pitts. “This state-of-the-art facility will benefit our entire region, especially South Fulton.”

ARTS & CULTURE UPDATES
The Fulton County Board of Commissioners approved to award $2.3 million in funding to Arts nonprofits through the Department of Arts and Culture. Funding awards ranging from $2,500 to $42,000 will be available through the Contracts for Services program to provide essential funding support for 190 non-profit organizations, public entities, and individual artists. The contracted services include programs, events and activities proposed to occur between January 1 and December 31, 2022. The Fulton County Department of Senior Services in collaboration with the Atlanta Regional Commission will host the Georgia Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) on Tuesday, August 9, 2022.
Upcoming market sites will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the following locations:
